I was planning to go to Split for a long time, so when I heard that The Blogger Programme is planning a trip there I was beyond happy! Plus I was going to get together with my TBP family! There are not many airlines that fly directly to Split unfortunately, but  luckily Wizz Air does fly directly, and they have low fare flight options.I have flown with them couple of times now and the service also compared to the other low cost airlines have always been much better! They have a great wide choice of food on board, and the staff is just lovely!

Located in the Eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea, this city has always mesmerised me. While landing at Split, I could see the stunning shore, and why people can’t stop talking about the Dalmatian coast. Once landed, we were welcomed by the beautiful weather of course. Even though I have been living in the UK for almost 10 years, I still struggle to this day with the weather, and every time I see sun, I just fill up with happiness.

We actually did not stayed in Split, but drove to  a lovely little village called Zaton. It was a one hour drive from the Split Airport, and on our way I just got reassured how beautiful and untouched Croatia is! We stayed at the gorgeous boutique hotel Admiral Zaton .

Located in a coastal paradise, this stunning hotel was literally all we needed. I mean look at the fantastic interiors! Oh and they also had the loveliest two dogs, River and Sailor, that we couldn’t just get enough of!

Also, there are many cute restaurants around the hotel where the marina is. The Croatian food is delicious, mostly fresh fish or seafood as you can imagine. Sadly, we only stayed at this lovely hotel for two days, but we had a very packed up trip.

Once we had a full nights sleep and rested, we woke up to go to the natural waterfalls called “Krka” (courtesty of Trip Advisor). Extending along the 73km River Krka, Krka National Park runs from the Adriatic near Šibenik. I have probably never seen anything as beautiful in my life! And I had the pleasure of swimming in the crystal clear waters of the waterfall. To be fair, not only we swam almost inside the waterfall, we even took my camera! By we, I mean myself and Massiel! As everyone else was either too cold or scared to lose their camera ha and ended up staying at the shore! I still have scratches on my leg due to slipping off the rocks while one hand was up trying to hold the camera, but was worth every second as we saw the waterfall from just metres away.

One thing to remember is to take cash with you though. I wasn’t thinking ahead and only brought my credit card, and don’t get me wrong there are lovely food places (even fresh pancakes), however they only accept cash!

Here I am posing with my darling friend Massiel, and wearing a stunning striped swimsuit from Figleaves. Actually I suggest you guys to check them out as they have everything from lingerie to pjs to swimwear! My life wouldn’t be the same without them!

Later in the day, we visited the gorgeous Šibenik. Šibenik is a historic city in Croatia, located in central Dalmatia where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. I highly recommend visiting  this city, which has a magnficent medieval heart, gleaming white against the placid waters of the bay. This city also a one of the great architectural wonders of the world, and a UNESCO world heritage Site!

That evening we had the most delicious traditional Croatian food at a restaurant called Kinoba Vinko. Here we had tried the typical Croatian food “Peka”. And a serious YUM! It was so good that my mouth still waters. You can get it either with lamb or chicken, and it is served with deliciously grilled potatoes.

Unfortunately the next day, it was our time to come back home. I would have loved to stay couple of more days in the gorgeous Admiral Zaton and write this blog post while there, getting a tan, however, life happens and I am back in London. Saying that the weather’s been surprisingly hot!

I have to say that I am truly blessed to call The Blogger Programme family. I cannot thank enough for this lovely trip! I can’t wait to go on a next adventure with them!

If you are going to Croatia (you can find a more detailed version here) soon or thinking about it as a possible option for your next vacation, Split, Sibenik or the little villages around the city are definitely a great choice! I couldn’t recommend it enough! While there make sure you say hi to River and Sailor!
