Having never been to Palma de Mallorca before, I was pretty excited to be going to the south of Spain with my girls for 6 whole days. I am huge fan of the Spanish lifestyle, its weather, food and friendly locals are my kind of getaway and Palma did not let me down, so I wanted to share my experience and some top tips.
Mallorca is one of Spain’s Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. It’s known for beach resorts, sheltered coves, limestone mountains and Roman and Moorish remains. Capital Palma has nightlife, the Moorish Almudaina royal palace and 13th-century Santa María Cathedral. It’s a beautiful island, and has a really laid back vibe.
We spent half of our trip in the centre and the other half on an epic yacht! Apart from being so much fun, the yacht gave us a chance to see the island from another view, and if you get the chance to take to the water, I would strongly recommend it. There I was thinking the yacht was the height of our trip but little did I know that it was about to get even more luxurious. Cue the Park Hyatt Mallorca!
The Park Hyatt Mallorca, sits just inland from the coast, which made it feel like we had discovered a secret little gem. It reminded me of something you would see in the movies, a clusters of buildings in sand-coloured stone, and a central square that connects the restaurants, with two swimming pools, the most amazing landscaped gardens and a Mediterranean terrace with the views of the Canyamel valley.
The resort had lots of different restaurants; Asia, Balearic, Tapas Bar, and Voro. We had the pleasure of trying Tapas bar and Balearic, and I can say the food was absolutely yummy.
My favourite part might be the incredible spa called Serenitas Spa. With treatments to harmonize body and mind, and majestic views over the Canyamel valley, honestly I can’t stop thinking about how relaxed I felt after a few treatments.
It really felt like you had to explore the whole place and with every turn a new site to see. The smell of roses was crazy, wish I could have captured it for you here!
They had four cute little Vespas that you could use to go into town and explore the island, but that would mean leaving the oasis! I couldn’t have asked for a better resort to stay at and everyone was so kind and lovely to us, from the selection of food, the service, the grounds, the rooms, the spa… I could go on and on – I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you Park Hyatt Mallorca 🙂
